Outsourcing to Poland is booming (source: Business services: Poland’s BPO boom).

Last years the minimum salaries were slightly growing and manual labor emigrated. On the other side Poland has an extreme well education system with many (technical) universities in every city. The wages of graduates are relatively very low. And graduates are very motivated to work in an international environment. These are the exact ingredients you need for Shared Services Center (SSC), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO). Besides Poland is stimulating this type of businesses by providing European subsidies on Innovative Economy.

The way to start is actually the same as you should start your (internal) service organisation already. You connect the right tools with the people within your organisation and preferable you create processes for it (in practice often the people and the tools creates their ‘own’ live which can go very well with motivated people but can also ends in a disaster. Other practice is that it completely depends of the people. Very interesting approach but risky even with very motivated people.

Outsourcing requires a structured process with clear goals and preferable measurable results (Key Performance Indicators). It is advised to analyze the needs and make list of requirements. Based on the requirement you ‘build’ a platform that includes tools, processes and the availability of the right people.

You can think about a big variation of work like:

  • Finance & accounting
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Procurement
  • Customer Operations Management
  • Human Resources
